O Lord, the face of the maiden is like a blossoming lotus, her hair like the cool moonlight, her sweet words like nectar, her radiant breasts and smiling lips enchant the mind. Her playful eyes are like the ocean and like deadly poison, and they dwell constantly within my thoughts.

Thinking of her graceful walk, slender waist, and peacock-like beauty, intoxicated by her fragrance like sandalwood, musk, and fragrant blossoms, I wander about, overcome by desire and delusion.

Day and night, without awareness of conflict, impurity, or illusion, my mind remains trapped in this attachment. My eyes shed tears, my heart melts, and I seek only one refuge — the holy feet of the Lord.

She, the incomparable daughter of the mountain tribe (Valli), whose beauty is beyond description, became united with You, O youthful Lord. When will I attain the sweetness of Your two sacred feet?

When the divine cow (Surabhi) was questioned about the meaning of the Vedas and sacred principles, when the path of righteousness and the jewel-like wisdom of the scriptures were tested, the sound of suffering reached Your ears. You listened and acted with great compassion.

When the innocent one was overcome by sorrow and cried out, thinking, “This is a great mistake,” You melted with compassion, uttered the sacred words “Hara Hara, Siva Siva,” and caused tears of grace to flow from the eyes of Surabhi.

You destroyed the suffering caused by that wrongdoing, split the body of the wicked demon, and made even the chariot of justice move forward by Your command. O Lord of Arur (Thiruvaarur), Your grace is supreme.

O six-faced Lord, son of Lord Siva, younger brother of Ganesha, supreme Lord of the Devas, born in Saravana lake, who came when Parvati appealed to You and wielded the powerful spear (Vel) — O Perumal, grant me Your grace.

Overall meaning:
The poet says that worldly beauty and desire have trapped his mind, but he longs to leave those attachments and attain Murugan’s divine feet. He praises Murugan as the compassionate protector who removes suffering, destroys evil, and grants liberation to those who surrender to Him.
