O crane-like one, come! Those who have gone astray and remain separated from the Truth,
their life-breath departs; their desires and delusions become their downfall.
O Lord! My state has become like that of one who has lost the way;
please listen to me — the tormenting heat of worldly suffering burns intensely.
Like a sharp sword, the flames rise above and scorch;
those who live without charity and compassion, without praising You,
will they ever attain liberation, or will they fall into ruin?
O Lord who protects those who do not live under the tyranny of demons,
You who shower grace upon the celestial beings who surround You!
O Vel-bearing warrior, O unconquered One,
You who dwell in Arur (Tiruvarur), shining with divine radiance, united with Uma!
Come to me, O righteous One, O hero revered by the gods;
You who destroy the cities of those who oppose You!
O divine Child, O Muruga, O Flower-like One, O King,
O Deva among the gods, O Perumal!
Grant me Your grace.
