பாலோ தேனோ பாகோ

O Lord,
whose glory is beyond measure,
whose form shines like the radiant sun,
whose greatness is praised by all the worlds,
whose spear-bearing devotees flourish in life,
whose beauty is like the shining moon of the heavens,

You who were not fed with the sweet lullabies of a loving mother,
You who did not receive the tender affection of mothers,
You who are beyond ordinary worldly attachments,

You who do not come seeking praise, fame, or worldly pleasures,
You who grant the highest spiritual joy to those who surrender to You,

You who went to the millet field where Valli, the graceful maiden, lived,
You who approached her and accepted her devotion,

You who made her feet your refuge and became her beloved Lord,
You who enter and dwell in the hearts of those who surrender to You,

You who are the great Lord of the sacred town of Thiruvur (Thiruvarur),
You whose glory is eternal and incomparable,

O Child divine! O Vel-bearing Murugan!
O Flower-like, kingly Lord!
O God of gods,
O Supreme Lord Muruga, bless me with Your grace.
