O Lord Murugan!
May I behold You standing before me in all Your divine beauty—
with Your anklets, tinkling ornaments, waist bells, and cool, melodious anklets producing enchanting sounds.
Just as You lovingly accepted Your father, Lord Shiva, who wore the elephant hide and embraced Him with deep affection,
may You also bless me with that same loving grace.
May I see Your fragrant garlands of kadamba flowers,
Your jeweled crowns,
Your lotus-like reddish hands,
Your shining Vel (spear),
Your compassionate eyes,
Your radiant faces,
and Your moon-like divine complexion,
so that my eyes may be cooled and filled with joy.
Will that blessed vision be granted to me?
When the universes, the cosmic spheres, and all the worlds trembled and overflowed during the great battle,
when the golden mountains shook and everything expanded in awe,
even Your father, the Lotus-born Lord's source (Lord Shiva), watched with wonder and delight.
O Lord of Kandha!
You who performed the glorious divine dance in Senthil (Tiruchendur),
please come before me and dance playfully so that I may witness Your divine presence.
O Lord, adored by Sage Agastya,
who delights in the fragrant embrace of Valli, the maiden with sweet, mountain-like bosom,
You are my Supreme Master—please shower Your grace upon me.
