Without any mental worries, I wish to become Your servant and follow You,
never failing in the ways and disciplines taught by the scriptures.
Understanding the various states of the mind and the teachings of the Vedas,
I seek their true meaning, free from confusion.
Reflecting on the sins that arise from past actions,
and following the proper path with devotion and wisdom,
I seek to overcome them and attain the highest spiritual wealth.
Removing anger and all such faults,
may I live with joy and humility,
always worshipping and surrendering myself to You.
“O Lord, You are the refuge of those who come to You with a sincere heart.”
The sages who have surrendered at Your lotus feet
declare Your greatness and compassion.
You are praised even by the celestial beings;
You showed mercy even to them.
You destroyed the mighty demon who came in arrogance,
O Lord who wields the powerful spear (Vel)!
You walked through the millet fields and married the tribal maiden Valli,
and You came to rule and bless the entire world,
O great and glorious One!
O Lord who came to reside at holy Tiruppazhani (Palani),
which is filled with flourishing beauty,
rich groves, and fragrant flower gardens —
please bless me with Your grace.
