As He approaches, His beautiful body shines with a fresh greenish-golden radiance.
The sound of His anklets rings out, "kaleer, kaleer,"
and His graceful feet seem to proclaim, "Sivēl! Sivēl!" as He comes near.

The foolish women, captivated by His majestic appearance and flowing locks,
wander in delusion, crying, "Alas! Alas!"
Though countless in number, they become exhausted, searching after Him, overwhelmed by desire.

Seeing His broad, radiant chest gleaming brilliantly,
my very life trembles in fear and excitement.
My mind runs restlessly, wondering, "Is there still desire within me? Does it remain?"

The cool breeze itself seems to call, "Come! Come!"
My heart asks, "What is this enchantment?"
O Lord, reveal to me Your sacred feet, saying, "Here they are, here they are," and bless me with Your grace.

O youthful Lord, on the day when the mighty mountain-like bow was broken with dazzling brilliance,
the celestial beings cried out joyfully in praise, exclaiming in wonder and celebration.

O Kumaresa! You are the supreme Guru who revealed the profound essence of sweet Tamil
to the great sage, imparting wisdom beyond worldly attachment and the truths of the Vedas.

When the mighty demon Surapadman refused to surrender, crying, "We will never yield,"
You advanced directly with Your spear.
As You struck him down, torrents of blood gushed forth in abundance.

O Lord Muruga, who shines gloriously in the lush, flower-filled hill of Tirupparankunram,
where the divine maiden Deivayanai dwells,
You whose powerful shoulders are adorned with sacred ornaments—grant me Your divine grace.

This verse is a prayer to Lord Muruga, vividly portraying His divine beauty, the irresistible attraction He inspires, the devotee's struggle against worldly desire, and finally seeking refuge at His sacred feet while praising His victory over the demon Surapadman and His role as the supreme spiritual teacher.
