O Lord Muruga!
Your radiant chest is like a golden pot filled with precious red gems;
your divine greatness rises so high that it touches the heavens.
Your broad shoulders resemble mountain peaks and your majestic form shines with splendour.
Your strong arms, decorated with ornaments, are like mighty branches;
your eyes are wide and beautiful like the fish in the ocean.
Your dark, flowing hair and charming appearance attract the hearts of young people.
People praise you, bow before you, and seek your blessings.
Yet, I have become trapped by the deceitful ways of women whose delicate waists and attractive forms create desire and confusion in the mind.
Please remove these illusions and grant me the blissful refuge of your divine feet.
My mind, which has become disturbed by attachment and worldly delusion, wanders in this world.
O Lord, bless me so that my thoughts may become pure and that I may always seek the lotus feet of your divine presence.
O bearer of the radiant spear (Vel)!
You who destroyed the demon who came across the ocean,
who shattered his pride and pierced his body with your powerful weapon,
causing him to fall defeated — protect me.
O Lord, beloved of the noble Valli, the daughter of the hunter clan,
whose sweet words and loving charm captured your heart,
your divine presence is celebrated with the sounds of sacred rhythms and music.
You who fought fierce battles, where swords flashed and warriors fell,
where the battlefield was filled with the sounds of drums, weapons, and victory cries —
you who destroyed evil and protected the righteous.
You went to the millet fields, saw the maiden Valli,
were moved by love for her, embraced her, and accepted her as your consort.
O Lord who resides joyfully at Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple,
please grant me your grace and eternal refuge.
