மக்கள்மெய் தீண்டல் உடற்கின்பம் மற்றவர்சொற்கேட்டல் இன்பம் செவிக்கு.

Makkal mei theendal udarkkinbam matravar Sorkettaal inbam sevikku.

The touch of one's children is physical joy; to hear their words is joy to the ears.

மக்களின் (குழந்தைகளின்) உடல் தொடுகை உடலுக்கு இன்பம்; அவர்களின் சொற்களை கேட்பது காதுகளுக்கு இன்பம்.
💡 English Meaning
Physical touch of children = bodily joy; their speech = auditory joy. Valluvar maps parental joy onto the senses: the body feels joy through a child's touch, the ear feels joy through a child's voice.
