📖 அதிகார விளக்கம்
மக்கட்பேறு அதிகாரம் குழந்தைகளின் அருமையைச் சொல்கிறது. பெற்றோருக்குப் பெருமை தருவது செல்வம் மட்டும் அல்ல; நல்ல பண்பும் அறிவும் உடைய குழந்தைகளே குடும்பத்தின் உண்மையான உயர்வு என்று இந்த அதிகாரம் விளக்குகிறது.
🌐 Adhikaram Meaning
This chapter explains the blessing of children. Valluvar says that learned, virtuous children are the true wealth and joy of parents, and their character brings honour to the family.

குறள் 61
பெறுமவற்றுள் யாமறிவது இல்லை அறிவறிந்த
மக்கட்பேறு அல்ல பிற.
We know of no blessing greater than having children who possess wisdom and knowledge.
குறள் 62
எழுபிறப்பும் தீயவை தீண்டா பழிபிறங்காப்
பண்புடை மக்கட் பெறின்.
Evil will not touch one for seven births if one is blessed with children who are faultless and of good character.

தம்பொருள் என்பதம் மக்கள் அவர்பொருள்
தம்தம் விதைத்தது அறுப்பு.
Parents' wealth is their children; the children's wealth is what they themselves have sown.
குறள் 64
அமிழ்தினும் ஆற்ற இனிதே தம்மக்கள்
சிறுகை அளாவிய கூழ்.
Sweeter than nectar is the food stirred by the little hands of one's own children.

மக்கள்மெய் தீண்டல் உடற்கின்பம் மற்றவர்
சொற்கேட்டல் இன்பம் செவிக்கு.
The touch of one's children is physical joy; to hear their words is joy to the ears.

குழல்இனிது யாழ்இனிது என்பதம் மக்கள்
மழலைச்சொல் கேளா தவர்.
'The flute is sweet, the lute is sweet' — so say those who have not heard the prattling words of their own children.
குறள் 67
தந்தை மகற்காற்றும் நன்றி அவையத்து
முந்தி இருப்பச் செயல்.
The good that a father can do for his son is to enable him to sit in the front of the assembly (of the learned).

மகன்தந்தைக் காற்றும் உதவி இவன்தந்தை
என்நோற்றான் கொல்எனும் சொல்.
The service a son renders his father is to make people say 'What penance did this father perform to deserve such a son?'
குறள் 69
தம்மின்தம் மக்கள் அறிவுடைமை மாநிலத்து
மன்னுயிர்க் கெல்லாம் இனிது.
That children are wiser than their parents — this is sweeter to all living beings in the great world.
குறள் 70
ஈன்றபொழுதின் பெரிதுவக்கும் தன்மகனைச்
சான்றோன் எனக்கேட்ட தாய்.
A mother rejoices more when she hears her son called 'a person of excellence' than at the moment of giving birth.
