உரனென்னும் தோட்டியான் ஓரைந்தும் காப்பான்வரனென்னும் வைப்பிற்கோர் வித்து.

Uranennum thottiyaan oraintum kaapaan Varanennum vaippirkor vithu.
🌐 English Translation
The one who guards the five senses with willpower as the goad — that person is the seed for the ideal life.

உறுதியான மனவலிமை என்ற அங்குசத்தால் ஐந்து புலன்களையும் காப்பவன் சிறந்த வாழ்க்கைக்கு விதை ஆவான்.

The 'goad' (elephant hook/ankusha) controls the mighty elephant — here willpower controls the powerful senses. The person who achieves this sense-control becomes the 'seed' — the source and origin — of the ideal blessed life. From such self-mastery, all good things grow.
