📖 அதிகார விளக்கம்
“அழுக்காறாமை” அதிகாரம் இந்தத் தலைப்பை மையமாகக் கொண்டு பத்து குறள்கள் மூலம் அதன் பொருள், பயன்பாடு, வாழ்வியல் முக்கியத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றை விளக்குகிறது. அறத்துப்பாலில் வரும் இந்த அதிகாரம் தனிமனித ஒழுக்கம், குடும்பநெறி, கருணை, மனத் தூய்மை போன்ற அறவாழ்வின் அடிப்படையை விளக்குகிறது. இந்த அதிகாரத்தின் தொடக்கக் குறள்கள் “ஒழுக்கத்தில் தோற்றம் உடைமை செலவு செய்து வழுக்கிடா அஃதே துணை.” போன்ற கருத்துகளால் தலைப்பின் பொருளை விரிவாக்குகின்றன.

விழையான் பகைவர் விழையுமால் வீரன்
வழியான் அவர்தம் துணை.
The envious person does not want (good for himself) — yet enemies desire (his downfall); the hero walks the path of being their companion.
குறள் 163
அழுக்காறு உடையார்க்கு அழுக்காறு உடைவர்
வழுக்கிய கண்ணும் செறும்.
The envious will have envy-holders as opponents even when they slip and fall.
குறள் 164
இறப்பினும் எஞ்ஞான்றும் அஃகா விடுவர்
மறுத்தும் அழுக்காறு இலார்.
Those without envy will never shrink — even in death, at any time — from (facing their situation).

மனத்தில் தொடர்பு இல்லா ஒழுக்கம் தரும்
சொரியும் மழை சொரிய அஃது.
Conduct without mental attachment (to envy) — like abundant rain falling — provides abundantly.
குறள் 166
அழுக்கா றுடையான் கண் ஆக்கம் போல் நிற்கும்
மழுக்காது ஒழுகுவான் கண்.
The prosperity of the non-envious person stands like (the apparent prosperity) of the envious — in reality it is solid.
குறள் 167
அழுக்காறு இலாதவன் செல்வம் நிலைக்கும்
ஒழுக்கத்தோ டென்றும் ஒழுகும்.
The wealth of the one without envy stands firm; along with good conduct it continues forever.
குறள் 168
அவ்வியம் சொல்லும் பவ்வியன் என்பான்
வெவ்விய வேட்கை யிலன்.
The one called 'modest' (pavviyan) speaks without envy and is free from burning desire.
குறள் 169
அஃகாமல் வையம் வலம்வரும் காவலர்
ஐயமிலர் கள்வரில்லார்.
Rulers who go around the world without shrinking (in non-envy), without uncertainty and without thieves.
குறள் 170
அழுக்காற்றால் ஆகாத ஒன்றோடு ஒன்று
வழுக்கிய காட்டி வரும்.
Envy causes nothing good — it only comes showing one failure after another.
