“வினைத்தூய்மை” அதிகாரம் இந்தத் தலைப்பை மையமாகக் கொண்டு பத்து குறள்கள் மூலம் அதன் பொருள், பயன்பாடு, வாழ்வியல் முக்கியத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றை விளக்குகிறது. பொருட்பாலில் வரும் இந்த அதிகாரம் சமூக வாழ்வு, அரசியல், தலைமை, நீதிநிலை, நட்பு, சொல், செயல் போன்ற நடைமுறை வாழ்க்கை நெறிகளை விளக்குகிறது. இந்த அதிகாரத்தின் தொடக்கக் குறள்கள் “துணைநலம் ஆக்கம் த்ருஉம் வினைநலம்nவேண்டிய எல்லாந் தரும்.” போன்ற கருத்துகளால் தலைப்பின் பொருளை விரிவாக்குகின்றன.

என்றும் ஒருவுதல் வேண்டும் புகழொடு
நன்றி பயவா வினை.

ஒஓதல் வேண்டும் ஒளிமாழ்கும் செய்வினை
ஆஅதும் என்னு மவர்.
They who seek greater heightsnshould shun deeds that dent their reputation.

மற்றன்ன செய்யாமை நன்று.
‘What have I done?’ – do not do deeds leading to such regret;neven if you do, do not ever repeat them.

சான்றோர் பழிக்கும் வினை.
Even when you see your mother starving,ndon’t do deeds deplored by those, noble and respected.

பழிமலைந்து எய்திய ஆக்கத்தின் சான்றோர்
கழிநல் குரவே தலை.
Far better than ill-gotten wealth isnthe extreme poverty fallen on the noble and exemplary.

கடிந்த கடிந்தொரார் செய்தார்க்கு அவைதாம்
முடிந்தாலும் பீழை தரும்.
Though successful, they yield nothing but pain,nwhen deplorable deeds are done rather than being shunned.

அழக் கொண்ட எல்லாம் அழப்போம் இழப்பினும்
பிற்பயக்கும் நற்பா லவை.
What is acquired with others’ tears, goes away with your tears;ngood deeds, even if begun with losses, will yield fruits later on.

சலத்தால் பொருள்செய்தே மார்த்தல் பசுமண்
கலத்துள்நீர் பெய்திரீஇ யற்று.
Being content with ill-gotten wealth,nis like storing water in a fresh unbaked mud pot.
