“இன்னாசெய்யாமை” அதிகாரம் இந்தத் தலைப்பை மையமாகக் கொண்டு பத்து குறள்கள் மூலம் அதன் பொருள், பயன்பாடு, வாழ்வியல் முக்கியத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றை விளக்குகிறது. அறத்துப்பாலில் வரும் இந்த அதிகாரம் தனிமனித ஒழுக்கம், குடும்பநெறி, கருணை, மனத் தூய்மை போன்ற அறவாழ்வின் அடிப்படையை விளக்குகிறது. இந்த அதிகாரத்தின் தொடக்கக் குறள்கள் “சிறப்பீனும் செல்வம் பெறினும் பிறர்க்கு இன்னாnசெய்யாமை மாசற்றார் கோள்.” போன்ற கருத்துகளால் தலைப்பின் பொருளை விரிவாக்குகின்றன.

சிறப்பீனும் செல்வம் பெறினும் பிறர்க்கு இன்னா
செய்யாமை மாசற்றார் கோள்.

கறுத்துஇன்னா செய்தவக் கண்ணும் மறுத்தின்னா
செய்யாமை மாசற்றார் கோள்.
Not to hurt those who have caused harm before, out of wrath,nis the principled path of the impeccable.

செய்யாமல் செற்றார்க்கும் இன்னாத செய்தபின்
உய்யா விழுமந் தரும்.
To harm even those who antagonize us unprovoked, will bring boundless suffering.
குறள் 314
இன்னாசெய் தாரை ஒறுத்தல் அவர்நாண
நன்னயஞ் செய்து விடல்.
The way to punish those who harmed us is to shame them by doing them good.

அறிவினான் ஆகுவ துண்டோ பிறிதின்நோய்
தந்நோய்போல் போற்றாக் கடை.
What use is it to be wise, if one cant treat others’ woes as one’s own.

இன்னா எனத்தான் உணர்ந்தவை துன்னாமை
வேண்டும் பிறன்கண் செயல்.
Shy away from doing to others what you perceive would have harmed you.

எனைத்தானும் எஞ்ஞான்றும் யார்க்கும் மனத்தானாம்
மாணாசெய் யாமை தலை.
Never do a harmful deed, however small, to anyone, in any circumstance, consciously or otherwise.

தன்னுயிர்ககு ஏன்னாமை தானறிவான் என்கொலோ
மன்னுயிர்க்கு இன்னா செயல்.

பிறர்க்கின்னா முற்பகல் செய்யின் தமக்கு இன்னா
பிற்பகல் தாமே வரும்.
If you harm others in the forenoon,nharm will visit you, by itself, in the afternoon.

நோயெல்லாம் நோய்செய்தார் மேலவாம் நோய்செய்யார்
நோயின்மை வேண்டு பவர்.
Harm descends on those who harm others;nhence, those who wish not to be harmed, do no harm.
