“தனிப்படர்மிகுதி” அதிகாரம் இந்தத் தலைப்பை மையமாகக் கொண்டு பத்து குறள்கள் மூலம் அதன் பொருள், பயன்பாடு, வாழ்வியல் முக்கியத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றை விளக்குகிறது. காமத்துப்பாலில் வரும் இந்த அதிகாரம் காதல், மனஉணர்வு, கூடல், பிரிவு, ஊடல் போன்ற அக வாழ்க்கையின் நுண்ணிய உணர்ச்சிகளை கவிதைநயத்துடன் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. இந்த அதிகாரத்தின் தொடக்கக் குறள்கள் “தாம்வீழ்வார் தம்வீழப் பெற்றவர் பெற்றாரேnகாமத்துக் காழில் கனி.” போன்ற கருத்துகளால் தலைப்பின் பொருளை விரிவாக்குகின்றன.

வாழ்வார்க்கு வானம் பயந்தற்றால் வீழ்வார்க்கு
வீழ்வார் அளி க்கும் அளி.
The bestowal of love by the beloved on those who love themnis like the rain raining (at the proper season) on those who live by it.

வீழுநர் வீழப் படுவார்க்கு அமையுமே
வாழுநம் என்னும் செருக்கு.
Who love and are beloved to them alonenBelongs the boast, 'We've made life's very joys our own.'

வீழப் படுவார் கெழீஇயிலர் தாம்வீழ்வார்
வீழப் படாஅர் எனின்.
Those well-beloved will luckless prove,nUnless beloved by those they love.

நாம்காதல் கொண்டார் நமக்கெவன் செய்பவோ
தாம்காதல் கொள்ளாக் கடை.

வீழ்வாரின் இன்சொல் பெறாஅது உலகத்து
வாழ்வாரின் வன்கணார் இல்.
There is no one in the world so hard-heartednas those who can live without receiving (even) a kind word from their beloved.

நசைஇயார் நல்கார் எனினும் அவர்மாட்டு
இசையும் இனிய செவிக்கு.
