📖 அதிகார விளக்கம்
“கள்ளாமை” அதிகாரம் இந்தத் தலைப்பை மையமாகக் கொண்டு பத்து குறள்கள் மூலம் அதன் பொருள், பயன்பாடு, வாழ்வியல் முக்கியத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றை விளக்குகிறது. அறத்துப்பாலில் வரும் இந்த அதிகாரம் தனிமனித ஒழுக்கம், குடும்பநெறி, கருணை, மனத் தூய்மை போன்ற அறவாழ்வின் அடிப்படையை விளக்குகிறது. இந்த அதிகாரத்தின் தொடக்கக் குறள்கள் “எள்ளாமை வேண்டுவான் என்பான் எனைத்தொன்றும்nகள்ளாமை காக்கதன் நெஞ்சு.” போன்ற கருத்துகளால் தலைப்பின் பொருளை விரிவாக்குகின்றன.

If one wishes not to be ridiculed, let him protectnhis heart from thoughts of swindling.

உள்ளத்தால் உள்ளலும் தீதே பிறன்பொருளைக்
கள்ளத்தால் கள்வேம் எனல்.
Even to think such thoughts is evil :nthoughts of swindling others’ property.

களவினால் ஆகிய ஆக்கம் அளவிறந்து
ஆவது போலக் கெடும்.
Swindled wealth, will seem to swell,nbut will breach its limits and bust.

களவின்கண் கன்றிய காதல் விளைவின்கண்
வீயா விழுமம் தரும்.
The love for swindling, when it yields,nyields indestructible distress.

அருள்கருதி அன்புடைய ராதல் பொருள்கருதிப்
பொச்சாப்புப் பார்ப்பார்கண் இல்.
Love, inspired by compassion, doesnt occur to thosenwho await others’ lapses to grab their wealth.

அளவின்கண் நின்றொழுகல் ஆற்றார் களவின்கண்
கன்றிய காத லவர்.
The excessive love for swindling rendersna person unable to abide by the limits of reason.

களவென்னும் காரறி வாண்மை அளவென்னும்
ஆற்றல் புரிந்தார்கண்ட இல்.
The clouded intelligence for defrauding is not for thosenwho understand the limits of reason and morality.

அளவறிந்தார் நெஞ்சத் தறம்போல நிற்கும்
களவறிந்தார் நெஞ்சில் கரவு.
Guile lies in the heart of the fraudulent like righteousnessnresiding in the hearts of those who operate within boundaries.

அளவல்ல செய்தாங்கே வீவர் களவல்ல
மற்றைய தேற்றா தவர்.
Those, who have mastered nothing but swindling,nwill exceed all limits and fall instantly.

தள்ளாது புத்தே ளுளகு.
The fraudulent will lose their living state; those who desist from defraudingnwill not be denied the world of Devas.
